The world really is your oyster!
Teams can spend a few days in Entebbe or Kampala adjusting to African lifestyle and culture. There are plenty of interesting sights to see and markets to try your hand at bartering!
In this valuable and rewarding phase teams can volunteer and take part in a variety of environmental or community based projects. Projects are usually carried out in rural schools where teams can help with maintenance work, fixing buildings, or general jobs with plenty of opportunity for interaction with local villagers and children. All projects are chosen in consultation with the community to ensure their needs are met.
Teams can choose to do a more challenging trek in the spectacular Rwenzori mountains which can be several days in length. Another option is to explore Uganda by day hikes, departing from Sipi Falls there are a number of trails to choose from.
Teams can choose from 2-3 day safaris in the stunning Murchison Falls or Queen Elizabeth National Parks. These parks are renowned for their vast range of wildlife including elephants, lions, hippos and cheetahs. The team can also opt to visit the Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary near Entebbe. Around Jinja, the source of the Nile, teams can opt for a number of activities, including white water rafting for the adrenalin seekers.
Our Uganda adventure is graded as moderate to hard, with more challenging days to be expected depending on the trek you choose. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy the expedition.
