Borneo is the third largest island in the world and one of the most diverse places on earth. Our expeditions focus on the northern Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, home to large rainforests, tropical islands and spectacular coral reefs.
Gain a PADI diving qualification amid stunning coral reefs.
Help the local community on either an environmental or community based project.
Visit the Orang-utan Centre in Sepilok.
Travel by longboat along the Kinabatangan River to see an array of indigenous wildlife including pygmy elephants and the proboscis monkey.
Remember, all our expeditions are created bespoke so you're not restricted by what you see here. If you're undecided about where to go, just call us, we love sharing ideas.
The world really is your oyster!
Upon arrival in Borneo the team will spend a couple of days acclimatising to the culture and humid climate in Kota Kinabalu. This is a great opportunity to explore the coastal city with its bustling night markets and water front mosque.
On the coast of the South China Sea, teams can learn to dive amid stunning coral reefs and gain their PADI Open Water certificate in a 5* PADI Dive Centre. Those who already hold the open water certificate can choose to do a more advanced course.
Trekking in Sabah is varied both in the range of challenge and the landscape of the trek. Jungle trekking is a highlight of being in Sabah; teams will be able to explore primary rainforests, learn jungle skills and listen to the sounds of the jungle on night walks. Teams could choose to follow the more historical Salt Trail trek in the Crocker Range, offering a fantastic insight into the history of Sabah.
In this valuable and rewarding phase teams can volunteer and take part in a variety of environmental and community based projects. Past examples include; planting trees and greenhouse construction or working with the community on essential repairs to schools and community buildings. Most teams will be staying with a long house community where they will become immersed in rural village life. All projects are chosen in consultation with the community to ensure their needs are met.
Teams can choose to explore the city of Kota Kinabalu further, relax on the beach or go snorkelling in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. A highlight of the trip is spending time with the endangered, native Orangutan at the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Or experience the spectacular wildlife on a Kinabatangan River cruise where you can explore the Gomantong caves.
