The Expedition

Phase 1: Acclimatisation

Upon arrival in Windhoek the team will spend time adjusting to African lifestyle and culture.

Phase 2: Trek

Namibia offers a variety of spectacular trekking options. The team can choose 4 day treks in the Naukluft National Park in the north. Another option is the challenging 5 day trek along the dramatic Fish River Canyon to the Skeleton Coast in the south. The trekking routes take the team through a variety of landscapes, trekking along rugged rock formations and canyon river beds, whilst wildlife spotting along the way.

Phase 3: Project

In this valuable and rewarding phase teams can volunteer and take part in a variety of environmental and community based projects. Projects are usually carried out in rural schools or communities where teams can help with maintenance work, fixing buildings or general jobs with plenty of opportunity for interaction with local villagers and children. All projects are chosen in consultation with the community to ensure their needs are met. Teams will stay within the community allowing students to fully immerse themselves into village life.

Phase 4: Culture & Review

Teams can choose to enjoy a safari in Etosha National Park, which offers fantastic game spotting opportunities with huge herds congregating around waterholes within the vast white salt pan. They may choose to explore the dramatic sand dunes at Sossusvlei, where they could try sandboarding!

Expedition Grade

Our Namibia adventure is graded as moderate or level 3. However, some easier and some more challenging days can be expected when trekking giving it an overall level of 2 to 4. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy your expedition.
