The world really is your oyster!
Teams will arrive in Ljubljana and spend a day exploring this beautiful riverside city and its many attractions such as Ljubljana Castle, Dragon Bridge and botanical gardens.
The main trekking phase takes place in Triglav National Park across the stunning Julian Alps. Teams can base themselves at Bohinj Lake, the largest glacial lake in Slovenia with the best views of Mt Triglav. There are plenty of options for day treks in Vogel or the stunning Radovljica Valley to visit Mostnica Gorge, Savica waterfall or traditional mountain huts. For a unique journey, teams can trek to Mount Komna, and return to Bohinj Lake.
This is the phase where teams can assist in a variety of agricultural or environmental based projects. In Slovenia teams could undertake projects on traditional organic farms or assisting the park rangers with trail maintenance. Working directly with the Triglav National Park authorities also provides students a unique learning opportunity about the vibrant and diverse environment of the Julian Alps.
All adventure enthusiasts must visit Bovec in the Soca Valley, gateway to the crystal clear water and exciting rapids of the turquoise Soca River – perfect for white water rafting! There is also lots to see in picturesque Lake Bled, which surrounds a small island, home to only a medieval church. This is a great base for hiking and mountain biking.
Our Slovenia adventure is designed for younger age groups and graded as easy to moderate or levels 1 to 3. Treks and activities can be chosen to fit every level and ensure all students have an enjoyable and rewarding expedition.
