The Expedition

Phase 1: Acclimatisation

On arrival in Zambia teams can acclimatise to life in Africa by spending a few days exploring Livingstone. The team will also have time to provision for their next expedition phase.

Phase 2: Project and Community Treks

This is the phase where teams assist with a home building project in Mwandi village. The local council has a list of needy families, mostly elderly or disabled people whom often are taking care of numerous grandchildren. As these people are physically unable to build their homes themselves, this will be the main focus for the team. The homes are constructed using traditional mud techniques with wooden frames. This sustainable project provides plenty of interaction with local villages and children.

You could integrate a few days low level trekking into your project phase either in the Gongo Forest Reserve or through nearby communities. This a great opportunity to interact with local communities and experience Tanzania's unique scenery.

Phase 3: Culture and Review

Any visit to Zambia would not be complete without visiting the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the worlds largest waterfalls. Teams can also go on safari, visit many cultural attractions and go white water rafting or interact with elephants along the Zambezi River.
